Submission of Papers

PAPERS/PROPOSALS SUBMISSION DEADLINE: November 1st, 2027

Papers and proposals received after the deadline, but before February 1st, 2028, may be accepted depending on availability.

Guidelines for Paper Submission

The Organizing Committee kindly requests that all papers be submitted through the official Congress website using the designated submission form.

Each author may submit only one paper, either to one of the 81 thematic sessions or to the student session. Each presentation will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for discussion.

Papers may be submitted in any of the official languages of the Congress (English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic and Japanese). However, all submissions must include an English translation of the paper’s title. Authors whose papers have been rejected may submit another paper.

Students are encouraged to submit papers on any philosophical topic to the student session.

Papers must not exceed 1,800 words (3,000 Chinese characters or 4,000 Japanese characters). Each submission must be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 200 words (500 Chinese characters or 600 Japanese characters) and up to five keywords, listed in alphabetical order.

Only PDF files can be uploaded. Please note that abstracts and papers cannot be modified once they have been submitted. To facilitate the submission process, we recommend using the provided template.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept or reject papers on the basis of their scholarly quality. All authors are required to complete a questionnaire concerning the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in preparing their submissions. The responses will be made available to reviewers for transparency but will not, in themselves, constitute a criterion for acceptance or rejection.

Guidelines for Roundtable Proposals

Roundtable proposals should be submitted through the official Congress submission platform. Each roundtable will be allocated two hours.

The organizer of the roundtable is required to submit a general abstract, five keywords, and a complete list of speakers, including their academic affiliations and nationalities.

The main requirement for a roundtable proposal is that the speakers must represent at least three different nationalities. Here, ‘nationality’ refers to the speaker’s original citizenship, rather than the country in which their academic institution is located.

Proposals will be reviewed and selected by the Organizing Committee. Approved roundtables will be included in the Congress programme only after all listed speakers have completed their registration and paid the registration fee.

Once a roundtable proposal has been approved, individual speakers are not required to submit separate papers or abstracts. All submissions are managed by the roundtable organizer.

Submission

Student Sessions

The Steering Committee of FISP, the Japanese Organizing Committee, and the International Programme Committee are encouraging the participation of students by inviting proposals for student sessions, panels, and workshops. Student sessions and panels will be chaired by senior philosophers from all continents.
